Olubukola Adenubi is a multi-talented astute researcher, professor and consultant in veterinary clinical pharmacology/toxicology specialty at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB). She attended Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, where she obtained a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree with honours in the year 2000. She obtained MSc Pharmacology from the University of Ibadan in 2009, and PhD Paraclinical Sciences from the University of Pretoria, South Africa in 2017. She became a certified Fellow College of Veterinary Surgeons, Nigeria in November 2023.

Olubukola’s research focuses on drug development from natural products aimed at the management of parasitic and infectious disease pathogens of veterinary and medical importance. It considers indigenous knowledge and has led to the discoveries of bioactive compounds capable of tackling challenges of multidrug resistance, a global health problem. She is an advocate of the prudent use of biological products and veterinary drugs, and believes that the integration of efficacious and safe natural products and indigenous practices into orthodox medicine may improve the quality of life in many under-served and impoverished African states. Her research findings have been presented at several local and international conferences, with notable awards including the highly competitive global L’Oreal-UNESCO Award. She has significant number of peer-reviewed research articles with numerous citations, placing her as an authority in her field of research.

Apart from pure academy, Prof. Adenubi is involved in leadership and administrative duties, special assignments and community engagements. She served as a temporary adviser to the Vector Control Action Group, World Health Organization, and she is currently the Head, Department of Veterinary Pharmacology and Toxicology, FUNAAB; Chairperson, Quality Assurance and Control Committee, College of Veterinary Medicine, FUNAAB, to mention but a few. To date, she has served as external examiner to five Nigerian Universities, reviewer for five reputable international journals and student adviser. She regularly writes on topical issues and hosts a YouTube channel (https://linktr.ee/bukiadenubi) where she disseminates non-technical materials for the service of the community. Her goal is to use her amiable disposition, skills, potentials and team spirit in achieving excellence and exponential growth in everything she is involved with.
