Prof. Jonathan Jeremiah ATUNGWU
Jonathan Jeremiah ATUNGWU is a Professor of Plant Nematology, currently the 9th Provost/ 28th Head of the 105 year-old Federal College of Agriculture, Moor Plantation, Ibadan,Oyo State.
He is a renowned expert in Organic Agriculture and biopesticides development. Atungwu is the Immediate Past Dean, College of Plant Science and Crop Production (COLPLANT) at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), & School of Agriculture, Lagos State University, Epe Campus. He is the incumbent Secretary of the Association of Deans of Agriculture in Nigeria Universities (ADAN).
Atungwu holds a Short Course Certificate in Sustainable Agriculture from Coventry University, UK, and attended an International Certificate program at China Agricultural University, Beijing.
His research focus is non-chemical crop protection options for sustainable crop production. He has over 100 publications, including books, journal articles in reputable international and national outlets, as well as in peered reviewed conference proceedings.
Professionally, Atungwu is the Immediate Past President of the Nigerian Society for Plant Protection (NSPP), Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Network of Biopesticides and Phytomedical Stakeholders (NEBIPS), and Patron of the Nigerian Society of Permaculture (NISOP).
He is a fellow of the :
1) Nigerian Society for Plant Protection.
2) Graduate Research, IITA.
3) Carnegie African Diaspora, USA
Professor Jonathan Atungwu is an active member of the:

At the international scene, he is a member of the Steering Committee of the West African Network on Organic Agriculture Research and Training, and the Biotic Constraints and Food Production Committee of the International Society for Plant Pathology.
He is a member of the International Society for Organic Agriculture (ISOFAR), as well International Society of Pesticidal Plants (ISPP).
Professor Jonathan Atungwu is a grantee of:
